Here is why it works, folks: Two arbitrary digits, X and Y...the number is represented as 10x+y. Now, add the individual digits together, you get x+y Now, subtract from original: 10x+y-(x+y), or 10x+y-x-y The +y and -y cancel, so you get 10x-x, or 9x. All multiples of 9 are assigned the same symbol, which changes at each page reload. All other numbered symbols are assigned randomly. Sorry to take the mystery out of it for everyone... -Dave Melczer dmelczer@xxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: Dave Hornby [mailto:Dave.Hornby@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2003 9:23 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: OT: Wednesday Humor [Scanned] Hint 1: The pictures associated with the numbers change every time. ;) Hint 2: Try clicking the back button and trying a different number = instead of playing again! ;) ***************************************************************************** Please be advised that this transmittal may be a confidential attorney-client communication or may otherwise be privileged or confidential.
