And good luck with that!

You can, however, manipulate some values in the users...

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\<SID>\

...to change the profile to be whatever you want during the logon
process. Ie. You can run a logon script to do this.

State = 276 (decimal) for an Administrative user and 20 (decimal) for a
standard user

Central Profile = the network location of the roaming profile ie.
\\mydomain.com\dfsnamespace\profiles\%username%

Cheers,

Jeremy.

The vmware vs citrix for VDI wasn't my decision. So I'm just working
with what I've been given. So I need to use the profile path in the
profile tab to get roaming profiles in view sessions on XP?

Nope, and they won't. The terminal services profile tab is just for
terminal services. Windows 7 will have the ability to override the
profile location tho.

Interesting choice going from Citrix to Vmware. Curious as to what
functionality that View offers that makes it more appealing that
XenDesktop (or another vendor).

We are moving some of our users from Citrix PS4 to a trial of VMware
view.

the VDI images are of XP. I have roaming profiles setup using
the terminal services profile tab, but they don't seem to work in my XP
VDI sessions.

        thanks,jb
