Oh yeah, you only need to purchase the appliance and set it up using its web
interface. That's it, nothing else is needed.
It also has support for Brightmail antispam and Kapersky AV if required.

Any idea how much the thing costs. In the US it's always at least 900
dollars or so for the NT license then the "server" plus the software etc
etc. Can I assume you just point to the appliance and then let it relay
mail to my internal Exchange 5.5 server?

One word. Mxtreme mail firewall appliance.
I would rate it the best on the market and its licensing system is awesome.
Where you don't have to pay per client. Just one flat price for the
appliance itself.
