Hi Guys - I'm wondering if anyone has run into problems with the following configuration: Hardware: Dell PowerEdge 6400 PERC 2 Controller PERC 2/DC Controller 2x QLogic HBA-2200 to a Dell 224F 2x Intel PRO 1000XT Gigabit NICS (going into Foundry BigIron Switches) 2x 550MHZ 512K Cache Processors 3GB RAM Onboard NIC, USB Port, Serial and Com ports all disabled. Configuration shows no IRQ conflicts Software: Windows 2000 Server, SP2 QLogic QLDirect Storage Consolidation Intel ProSet Software SQL Server 2000 Standard, SP1 MDAC 2.6 Terminal Services in Remote Administration Mode And here is the problem that I have experienced (and have experienced before, but have not been able to fix): Working along building up the server, everything goes well. Install the ProSet software and team the NICs for Fault Tolerance. A few reboots later, it takes an hour to get a logon screen, then another hour after that to get a desktop. I forced the NICs Link Config to only go at 1000Mbps, and it worked great for 4 more reboots, allowed me to install SQL Server and MDAC 2.7. On the reboot for 2.7, the problem reoccurred... only I get the logon screen right away, but I don't get the desktop for an hour, and it takes an hour once I have the desktop, to even execute a Start | Run. I tried backing back down to MDAC 2.6, to no avail... right now I'm trying to reapply SQL Server SP1. It seems that the problem is a software conflict somewhere, but where? We have been focusing on the NICs as the source of the problem, but it may be something else. Has anyone else seen this problem and know what else I might do? I've been fighting with this box for 2 weeks now, and I'm FRUSTRATED! >>:D (I am in the process of trying a few more things before calling Dell Support) Thanks for any suggestions and help...
