Ok, so I'm not as much of a computer historian as some of you, but my
first computer was an old 486 Packard Bell we bought from Sams Club.

I remember typing in dir at the dos prompt and commenting on how fast
it listed. Then you push the turbo button and it lists even faster...
way cool

I talked my mother into buying more ram. $200 for a 4MB 36 pin SIMM.
I'm glad Moore's Law is still in effect.

Same here... Then I moved on to the Commodore 128 a few years later...
 I
can still hear my parents yelling for me to get off the phone. They
didn't
understand that you can only move so much data at 1200 baud.
