How about syncing with Palm devices, or blackberry. Wonder if it plays nice.

Yes as I said (and linked to) in my post Thunderbird is what I am switching
to.  The Calendar add on is excellent! As is the one for news and blogs
which lets you put RSS feeds into the program.  The weather plugin is also
kinda neat.   I have about 12 pop accounts I set up in it so I also had to
download the get all mail plugin but it works nicely. I was able to import
my PST file into it from Outlook and now everything is peachy. Jim

Try mozilla's thunderbird.  It has a calandar plugin.
