Hi All,
The next meeting of the North East Ohio Citrix Users' Group will be Monday,
November 8th, at 4:45 PM-6:45PM, at the Cuyahoga County Public Library
Administration building (2111 Snow Rd Parma, Ohio). We have two topics that
should be of importance and interest to you all.
Application Service Management using Compuware's Vantage Technology
If you answer "No" to any of these questions or don't know the answers, you'll
want to attend the November Citrix Users Group Meeting and see a "Live Demo".
You'll see how you change the "No" to a "Yes" and learn how you can feel more
at ease that you're well informed about your Citrix environment from Jenai
Makulinski, Manager for Vantage Products, and Greg Specht, Senior Systems
Engineer at Compuware.
Ø Do you have a global view of the availability and performance of the
entire Citrix environment?
Ø Will the applications, once running via Citrix, perform as well as they
did on the desktop?
Ø How are your SLAs and any other support services requirements monitored
and reported?
Ø How do other applications impact Citrix, and how does Citrix impact your
network?
Ø If a bottleneck occurs, do you know where to start troubleshooting?
Ø Can you be notified when a serious error appears in the event logs, when
a Citrix server goes down or when a critical Citrix server has serious
performance issues that are affecting many users?
Citrix iForum Recap
Citrix's iForum was truly the biggest and best every with some 2.600 attendees.
Many new features and functionalities for the MetaFrame Access Suite and
MetaFrame Presentation Server were announced, including Memory and CPU
management, and SMART Access - client aware, role based security. Jim Kenzig,
President of NEOCUG and Director of Networks at the Cuyahoga count Public
Library, will present his widely acclaimed recap of the meeting. He'll be
"calling it as he sees it" - as always.
DOOR PRIZE - as has been our tradition at the meeting after iForum, we'll be
giving away a Citrix-logo European knapsack - a souvenir of iForum 2004. We'll
also have CDs with the latest White Papers and Best Practices from Citrix
Consulting Services that were distributed at iForum.

provides value-add services for network design and installation, Citrix
MetaFrame administration/support, Microsoft deployment and conversions, and has
a large variety of training programs (including Citrix!). XiTech,

office in west Akron to support companies in Northern Ohio. Their professional

Cuyahoga County Public Library Administration Building 2111 Snow Rd. Parma,
Ohio 44134
Across the street from Midtown shopping center the administration building is
behind the Parma Snow Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library.
Access from Interstate 480: exit on State Rd. and go south approximated 1.5
miles to Snow Rd. Turn Left (east) onto Snow Rd and the library is about 1 mile
down on the right hand side. There is a McDonalds across the street from the
driveway into the building. The administration building is the large building
in the back of the parking lot.
Access from Interstate 77: exit on Rockside Road and go West for about 4 miles
and up the hill . Cross Broadview Road, and the library is about a half mile
down on the left side.
The meeting is in the auditorium to the left as you enter the building. You
will need to sign in with the receptionist desk when you arrive.
