There can be several reasons causing connection issues with license server like rule changes on a firewall. In this case ping is not the best tool. The easiest way for me is to write a script which will monitor Windows Event Log and send an email in case there is a new event 9015 but it would be nice not to spend additional time to do it if there is a ready to go tool.
