I'll have to look into that. I'm not very familiar with the licensing
tools, and an limited when I can take the servers down. It would be much
easier if they allowed you to run an advanced server on an enterprise
license.

One thing I thought of, could I point my Citrix servers to a
non-existent license server, then play with the licenses on the license
server and a different citrix server to figure out the issue without
affecting my production servers? If a server can run for 30 days without
a license, users wouldn't be affected as long as the production servers
aren't rebooted right?

Hi,

Have you tried to trobleshoot by using tools like LMDIAG.exe, LMSTAT.exe
and which are available in %systemroot%program
files\citrix\licensing\lms folder?

Subject: [THIN] Licensing issue PS4 Advanced to Enterprise

We purchased an upgrade for 4.0 from Advanced Edition to Enterprise.
After putting the license on the license server and setting the edition
one of the servers, I rebooted. At first, I could log in via ICA as an
administrator, but not users. The ICA service eventually stopped with a
9027 Metaframe error.
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MetaFrame
Event Category: None
Event ID: 9027
Date: 3/30/2008
Time: 12:22:43 AM
User: N/A
Computer: XXXXXXXX
Description:
Error 49669540 received while obtaining a license for a MetaFrame client
connection. The license request has been rejected.

I tried a few times, and each time the error in the description was
different. I put the old Advanced license back on and set the edition
back, and it worked as Advanced. The Citrix server has rollup 4 loaded.

What could be causing this? I tried calling Citrix as I thought
licensing questions were free, but the Tech Support menu didn't give
that option, just wanted a contract number and Customer Service is for
non-technical licensing issues, and they were closed.

One thing, and I'm hoping this isn't causing my problem. We renewed SA
and got the Enterprise license, but the SA on the Advanced licenses has
expired on the liense server as I didn't get a chance to try to install
the new licenses and reboot the servers until after they expired.

I did not try to install any of the Enterprise level software, as I
figured it should allow users to log in as long as the Edition was set
to Enterprise.

I wanted to be sure I got this running as I want to start migrating to
4.5 with a new farm and all the Enterprise features and was trying to
get the 4.0 license installed before upgrading the license server to
4.5.

Thanks
