Troubleshooting Did your product take a startup license? This can be checked by going to the Current Usage page of the License Management Console. All products must take a startup license except for Password Manager. Do you have a license file designed to license your specific product? The Product(s) that a license file is designed to license is listed inside the file: ? MetaFrame: MPS_ENT_CCU, MPS_ADV_CCU, MPS_STD_CCU ? Password Manager: MPM_ADV_RN, MPM_ADV_RC ? MetaFrame Secure Access Manager: MSAM_ENT_CCU ? MetaFrame for Unix: MPS_ENT_CCU Was anything modified in the license file? The only things can be changed in a file without corrupting it are the port numbers. Any other changes could corrupt the digital signature in the file. If you suspect your file is corrupted, download a copy from mycitrix.com. To change the license server port numbers see CTX103008 ? Changing the License Server's Port Number. Is the location of the license server defined on the product? For MetaFrame Presentation Server the location of the license server is defined in the Presentation Server Console. For MetaFrame Secure Access Manager and MetaFrame Password Manager the location of the license server is defined in the Access Suite Console. For MetaFrame of Unix the location is defined at the command line by running ctxlsdcfg and specifying the license server name and port. Ping the name or IP address of the license server from the Access Suite Product. Can the product resolve the name or IP of the license server? What is the Subscription Advantage Expiration date in the license file? The Subscription Advantage Expiration date can be seen in a license file. It is in the format 2005.0322. A new license file has to be obtained whenever the Subscription Advantage is renewed. This ensures that future products will automatically function. See CTX103625 ? Future Access Suite Products May Not Function Depending on the Date in the License File for further clarification. Is the CitrixLicensing service started on the license server? Is the product separated from your license server by a firewall? If there is a firewall separating the product from the license server follow the directions in CTX103356 ? Firewall between the License Server and the computer running MetaFrame Presentation Server. Are there any errors in the lmgrd_debug.log located on the license server? This debug log in located on a license server in \Citrix\Licensing\LS. Are the lmgrd.exe and Citrix.exe processes running in task manager on the license server? When running Netstat on the product do you see an open connection to the Citrix.exe process? All products keep an open TCP connection to the license server except for Password Manager. See CTX103920 - Troubleshooting Connectivity Issues between a Computer Running MetaFrame Presentation Server and its License Server using NETSTAT to troubleshoot issues between the product and the license server using Netstat. Does the Citrix.opt file contain any kind of restrictions for what servers can check out licenses from your license server? The Citrix.opt file is a configuration file to restrict the license server. For more information about the Citrix.opt file, see CTX103955 ? MetaFrame Access Suite License Server Customizations. Are there any errors in the Event Viewer on the license server or the Product?
