Ok, I'm having this issue in two different areas. I say "problem" because I know how to fix it, but I don't know why its happening. The first is IBM Content Manager OnDemand. It uses Adobe Acrobat Approval via a plug in as a helper application. When I installed it, the user was unable to launch a PDF file from OnDemand (error read "Adobe Acrobat (AcroExch.App rc=-2147024891) could not be loaded. From what I could find on the web, that error number indicates a permissions error of some type, ie. "Access is denied." If an admin opens a PDF this way, it works - and _then_ it works for everyone, and continues to work after a reboot. We also have a home grown document management system that uses Autovue as a viewer. In this case, I have to launch Autovue before a user does, otherwise the users can't launch documents. Once I do, the users are forever able to launch Autovue from our document management software! Environment is NT4 TSE. I checked file/registry permissions, and dcomcnfg looking for security related problems, but found nothing. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
