What is it with clinicians and passwords? Ours are the same. Ask them to remember a single password and they get all sniffy and complain that they have better things to do. If they can't remember a simple password (one they choose themselves) I'm pretty sure I don't want them looking after my health. -----Original Message----- From: Luchette, Jon [mailto:JLuchette@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 24 August 2004 20:01 To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: Healthcare / Citrix sso-biometrix-proximity cards I like your angle, you need an angle in this argument of IT security vs. clinician ease-of-use, and you have one that just might work. If I can promise users their own individually profiled sessions that can start on a thin client, be resumed from another thin client or even a pc, I might just be able to get away with telling them they have to actually enter a password. I'll check it out. "You mean I can swipe my badge and enter my password from any kiosk and see MY desktop, with MY shortcuts, MY preferances and if I do it within an hour of when I disconnected I can resume my work right where I left off?" In that context entering a password was the key to Nirvana and a small price to pay.
