As I said - don't necessarily think you need to weaken permissions to
achieve this - seductive, is the dark side...

Paths like this are used, because they tend to be default values in the
registry.

It's likely this could be altered so that users could still use this
control, without opening up your system and allowing them free-er reign
in the future.
