[THIN] Failed to remove server from Farm errors

Hi All,
Have a customer who has approached me to cleanup their Citrix farm which
had bit of a meltdown. System is now back up and functioning but there
is a group of servers which no longer exist which cannot be removed from
the Farm inside the CMC.
The error they get is the typical 'The Citrix Management Console failed
to remove the Server" Error Code: 80000001.
Ive reviewed Citrix KB article CTX765180 which didn't really help. So
they are stuck with a list of servers in the CMC which need to be
removed but cant.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
