While we are at it, do not forget TMuLimit from TMurgent.
http://www.tmurgent.com. It is priced similar to Armtech and is loaded =
with
features including application limiting to a specific CPU percentage.

Also have a look at Armtech. It is only $500 per server and does all =
the
same stuff for a cheaper price. http://www.aurema.com Can be used in
conjuction with Tscale. WMSoftware also has a new CPU scaling program
called Relevos that is the same price as Armtech.
http://www.wmsoftware.com/relevos/intro.asp
It is good to see other choices now in this arena.

Jeff,
Thanks for the detailed technical article. Have you been looking into
Tscale. It is not the same type of application, but you may find it
useful for you servers. I went to a presentation of this product, and I
installed on a test server. The main goal of this application is to
optimize server resources. This application looks for duplicated modules
that are loaded in memory, mostly ddls, and optimize the server
performance eliminating this duplication, redundancies.
I believe that the key to improve servers stability and performance is
as always a good test/implementation phase. Most of the time we are
rushed to move crappy applications in production without having the time
to properly test them and understand what are the problems with these
applications.

Thanks again,
Marco
