Tom,

I've come across weird issues like that before on PS4. I don't recall my errors but I'm willing to bet I can help you out.

For my process, I'll stick with server 1 is connected to farm on sql. Server 2 and 3 will be members of the local access farm. Here is what I did.

Server 2 - chfarm to add to the sql datastore. You should get message that it added but IMA will not start, even after reboot. Copy the mf20.dsn from server one. Replace the mf20.dsn on server 2 with copy of dsn from server1. Open dsn with notepad and change the server name from server1 to server2. You should be able to start the IMA service now. Follow the same steps for server3.

Hi all, this one is killing me.

I am attempting to build a new PS4 farm.

windows 2003 SP1. datastore on SQL2000 SP4. built the first server created the farm all hunky-dorry.

manually built the second server installed PS4 but installation failed with the error 26005.

here the rub can install the server into a new farm Access and SQl against new Database but can not add to the existing sql DS.

built a third server to see if it could be hardware (clutching at straws now) same error but could add it to the existing Access test farm on server 2.

Getting angry now. moved first server into access farm again sucessfully.

trashed the DS and recreated. and created new farm with server 1 all ok. attempted to move 2nd server into farm failed the the errors

IMAService 3615 (IMA_Result_Network_Failure) (DSN connects sucessfully)
IMAService 3601 (IMA_Result_DBConnect_Failure)
ServiceControlManager 7024 Service specific error 2147876886

Have trawled the the web and forums and tried all the ideas with no luck. I cannot believe that this is not solvable.

I am now loosing the will to live,
