That's nice, However my Terminal servers are generally the servers most likely to crash and burn in my environment, I would rather not have to re-enter all my license information if that server does crash and burn, my DC's are more stable because they do not get anything loaded on them and they are just domain controllers, however I had a older server with some nice hardware sitting around so it is my Citrix/TS license server. So now back to my original question how to I get the management console to point to the new license server? Believe me I dug and dug on the license subject. In the end I took the advice from 2 techs a Citrix expert and a guy from MS TS support that was most helpful and knowledgeable. They both said the same thing. Make a TS server your license server. It takes up very little resources. Anyway... It works in our environment. And yes we have a MS Maintenance agreement and I was able to transfer over the 2000 licenses to 2003. I've been running 2003 TS (with MF3)since Nov and all is stable. I'm having some minor performance issue on one server. But it's not the licensing server. -----Original Message----- From: Joe Shonk [mailto:joe.shonk@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, June 06, 2005 4:15 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Dumb Question.... again... 2003 Terminal Server License server I agree... The License server shouldn't be on one of the Terminal Servers. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Landin, Mark Sent: Monday, June 06, 2005 12:14 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Dumb Question.... again... 2003 Terminal Server License server > If you mean a DC ,2003 TS licenses no longer have to be on a > DC. As a matter of fact it is recommended you use one of your TS. I've not seen that recommendation before. Who's recommendation is that, and why is that configuration "better"? ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: ThinPrint GmbH Now available: The new version .print Engine 6.2 with SSL encryption and certificate management. http://www.thinprint.com ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thin.net/links.cfm ThinWiki community - Excellent SBC Search Capabilities! http://www.thinwiki.com *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thin.net/citrixlist.cfm ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: ThinPrint GmbH Now available: The new version .print Engine 6.2 with SSL encryption and certificate management. http://www.thinprint.com ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thin.net/links.cfm ThinWiki community - Excellent SBC Search Capabilities! http://www.thinwiki.com *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thin.net/citrixlist.cfm ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: ThinPrint GmbH Now available: The new version .print Engine 6.2 with SSL encryption and certificate management. http://www.thinprint.com ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thin.net/links.cfm ThinWiki community - Excellent SBC Search Capabilities! http://www.thinwiki.com *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thin.net/citrixlist.cfm
