of course a mixed farm is possible....depends on what you see as mixed....
mixed in the way of running next to each other=yes, 
mixed in a sense of running together=no.

We are about to install Citrix Xpa on ome servers here, is It possible to
load balance or have a mixed farm of 1.8 and XP servers?  I don't think so,
but I cannot remember for sure.
