Remove any old WINS and DNS settings especially if you are using the same
IP.

Subject: [THIN] Changing Netbios name of XP FR3 Server but what about data
store server?

So far according to litttle bit of research what is involved to make it go
smoothly for regular XP server is
1)remove server from any lists of published applications
2)Stop the IMA service
3)Delete file wfcname.ini from root diectory if exists
4)change the server name
5)reboot the server
6)Use CMC to readd the removed published applications.
This is from a Brian Madden.

Is there anything additional you would do for regular XP servers AND what
about if you are trying to change the main XP server netbios name as well
that is running the data store - in this case Access data store.

Network architect is insisting on changing all server names to a new naming
convention - I would rather not but looks like he may get his way. :(
