Joshua,

Thanks, that was the first thing I checked. I've just posted another reply
that gives more on the problem. Any further help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Richard

is your spooler service running??

Have you left the window for a long time to see if something happens.

It could be a mis configured WINS/DNS problem leading to long delays
in
resolving the available printers?

regards,

Phil

Hi,

My Win2k RDP termianl server has a weird problem. If I go
Start|Settings|Printers nothing happens, no printer window but no
hanging.
I've rebooted and tried again, nothing.

I can still use the start menu and run shortcuts from the desktop but
I've
also discovered that double clicking My Computer also just gives
nothing.

The weird thing is that on trying to log out the system brings up a
window
saying "End program - explorer.exe" etc.etc.. This implies to me that
an
explorer thread is started for the printers folder or my computer but
it
hangs/stops or whatever.

I suppose my questions are...

1) Has anybody seen this before and how can I fix it please?

2) If no-one has seen it how do I start troubleshooting it. I used
process
explorer from sysinternals, all very interesting but not much help to
a
pharmacist!

Many thanks

Richard
