Hi Ronnie - unfortunately I could not find the article on Citrix support
anymore, but there are a bunch of other related articles on the net
detailing the same fix. Details as follows:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Resolution:

Some published applications may not exit properly.

This registry key is valid on MetaFrame XP Service Pack 2 for Windows 2000
and Terminal Server 4.0 and on MetaFrame 1.8 Service Pack 3 for Windows
2000 and Terminal Server 4.0 with the respective hotfixes ME183W030 and
ME183T032, or their equivalents.

For example, an application may have an open registry key or there could
be a problem with a Citrix function such as Wfshell.

As a workaround, add the process file name to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\wfshell\TWI

Value Name:LogoffCheckSysModules

Type:REG_SZ

String:MyAppName.exe

NOTE:

Enter the list of executable names with a comma and NO spaces between
them, for example:

App1.exe,app2.exe,app3.exe

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cheers,
Shane

Thanks Joe - I found that article about 30 minutes ago - implemented the
reg fix, and problem has now been resolved. Appreciate the feedback.

Cheers,

You may want to look into adding the processes to the following registry
keys... I don't have the ctx or ms articles handy, but you should be able
to google for more info.

Joe

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\wfshell\TWI]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal
Server\SysProcs]

Subject: [THIN] Acrobat Writer 7 Published App Probs

Hi All - I have installed Acrobat Writer 7 onto a Windows 2000 Citrix
server (Metaframe XPe), which also has Office 2000 installed. I have then
published Microsoft Word as a seamless app, which then allows users to
open/create word docs, and convert to PDF via the "Adobe PDF" toolbar
which integrates with Word. This process works fine, however when the
seamless app is then exited, it does not log the session cleanly off the
server. It leaves it active in the background. Investigation has found
that this is due to the "acrotray.exe" and "acrodist.exe" processes
launching when the conversion is taking place, and they then stay in
memory once the PDF conversion has been completed. If I kill these
processes off, the session then logs off cleanly.

Is anyone aware of a way to overcome this, so the session exits cleanly
when the user closes/exits the app ??

Cheers,
Shane Rees
