Saw a baby LEGO over here this afternoon on our water saucer. I never raise an eyebrow if a species seems earlier than usual any more b/c of climate change. This year our box in the arbor was nested by a Bewick's Wren pair. Mom is sitting on eggs. Since we are minus the snake that was hanging out in our cable box last year a few feet away, we expect to have baby wrens and plenty more Texas spiny lizards and Green anoles this year. Please don't kick me out for asking non-aviary questions, but does anyone know why tarantulas are so fragile? Very few of the ones around here live into adulthood. They follow her as she perches in the dead tree outside my window, feeds at the sunflower feeder, or drinks from the hanging birdbath, all the while pleading for her attention. She is very good at ignoring them, which makes me think they are not recent fledges. Fledgling LEGOs on April 4...is that early?
