The western Gulf region is divided almost exactly in half today in terms of upper air flow. The west has S winds at 20 knots and the east has N winds above 30 knots. The visible migration occurring today is a good circus-Gulf flow N up the Texas coast, bending to the NE to follow the bend in the coastline and petering out east of Houston. There was no visible migration occurring east of the Sabine River but that does not mean that it is not occurring. It would be in the form of trans-Gulf migrants coming in low to the water to avoid a bit of headwind. John C.
