Hello Texbirders,
This past Saturday, May 16th a Yellow-green Vireo made a brief stop at the
South Padre Island Birding & Nature Center. I found it in the gardens after
a thunderstorm coming from the west passed through the island at around
9am. The shifting winds and rain dropped quite a few birds and there was a
flurry of activity for about an hour. The vireo moved quickly through the
gardens. My first views were just for a few seconds before I lost it and
after searching for about 30 minutes I found it again, but again it quickly
got lost. I was lucky enough to get a photo during the second observation,
but it was my last view of the bird. I never saw it again after the photo,
nor did anyone else over the weekend.
Winds shifted out of the south again a few hours later and I think it just
kept on going.

Sorry for the late report.
