Greetings All:

Upon my arrival home late this afternoon/early this evening I noted a swirl of
sparrows beneath my dove feeder including 3 adult 'white-striped'
White-throated Sparrows and 2 Field Sparrows.  I have been living at my current
address for something like eight years.  My first White-throated Sparrow was
added just a few days ago ... and now I have three.  On top of that Field
Sparrow is yard bird #106 for the place - and I am adding species at a pace
that I would not have imagined possible this late in the game.

I don't know what this all means in the grand scheme of ongoing or anticipated
weather but I keep a pretty close eye on my yard and it seems very odd to me
that I am pulling in such an fifty set of new birds in such a short period of
time (I have added Bewick's Wren, White-throated Sparrow, Red Crossbill, and
Field Sparrow in less than a month).  At this rate, I would not be surprised at
the appearance of an American Tree Sparrow or Harris's Sparrow.
