[texbirds] VNC Field Trip Announcement

Hi, all!
This month's Valley Nature Center-sponsored field trip will be to
Sacahuistale Flats and Port Mansfield. Shorebird migration has begun, so who
knows
what will show up at the coast, but we also hope for some Valley
specialties on the way such as Cassin's and Botteri's Sparrows, White-tailed
and
Harris' Hawks, and Altamira Oriole for Willacy County (for those keeping county
lists ;-)).
Meet at the Stripes in Raymondville at 7:30; those in the Edinburg/McAllen
area can meet at the Flying J Plaza at Monte Cristo and US 281 (around the
west side parking area, closest to the frontage road) at 6:45 to carpool.
Cost is $5.00 per person, and all proceeds go to sponsoring a school field
trip to the Valley Nature Center.
