[texbirds] VNC Field Trip Announcement

Hi, all!
Next Saturday (24 AUG) is our monthly Valley Nature Center field trip, and
for this excursion we're scheduling a "Sod Farm Hop" in hopes of finding
some special migrating shorebirds! We'll also be visiting La Feria Nature
Park (King Rails have occurred there, along with other water/marsh birds) and
Sugarhouse Ponds (Dan Jones and Tim Brush have reported some good finds,
including Willet and Black-bellied Plover, both rather rare fort Hidalgo
County). And if something really good shows up in the meantime, who knows
where we'll end up?? :-)
Meet at the La Feria Whataburger at 7:30, and we'll carpool from there.
Cost is $5.00 per person, and all proceeds go to sponsoring a school field
trip to the VNC.
