Nice day at Texas City Dike. The large flocks of eared grebes were not
around but there are individuals. At the base saw neat trio of a common
loon, eared grebe and horned grebe close to shore. Wish I could have
had a photo of them. More eared grebes at the tip of the dike. Lots of
loons, all common. Sad, one had a large red fishing gear and line
hanging out of its mouth, cannot close its beak, but it is still
swimming and diving with a healthy loon.

The very white all white glauceous gull is still at the dike, about
midway along. Easy to ID. At least two lesser black backed gulls
easy, too.

Saw a second cycle gull that I had to peg as herring but it has
bubblegum pink legs and pink to base of bill. Feathers, head shape,
size, all said herring, too bad, I tried to turn it into a Thayer's.
