I spent a couple of hours on the Laureles division of the King Ranch in
Kleberg County this morning, primarily looking for Burrowing Owls. There
has been a Great-horned Owl in the area we usually find the Burrowing Owls,
and I wanted to check the status. Didn't see the GHOW or any BUOW's, but
did see several Sprague's Pipits and a good sized flock of Mountain
Plovers. The Plovers were spread out over a fairly wide area, but there
were at least 20 individuals.
