Hello all,
Both species of tanagers continue at Muleshoe NWR (Bailey Co.) plus a
Cordilleran Flycatcher, at least 1 male Eastern Bluebird, Ovenbird, and numbers
of all 3 Spizella sparrows. It's still a struggle to reach 5-6 species of
warblers at a migrant trap up this way, and that's only possible when including
Yellow-breasted Chat as a warbler!
Good birding,

Subject: Scarlet + Summer Tanager, Muleshoe
Hello all,
Of local interest was a male Scarlet Tanager and female Summer Tanager at
Muleshoe NWR (Bailey Co.) late this morning. A pair of Bell's Vireos have
returned as well. The birding was well above average and I hope to get out
again later today (in Lubbock) and tomorrow.
FYI: In Lubbock, there was an adult Least Tern at Canyon Lake 6 on 28 and 29
April. I did not find the bird but observed it yesterday after dipping on
Thursday.
Good birding,
