Highlights yesterday in the hoardes of mosquitos were a striking male
Golden-winged Warbler, calling Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, and three
Chuck-will's-widows (Smith Oaks Sanctuary). On the way home, there was a
female Vermilion Flycatcher at Anahuac's Skillern Tract & a lingering adult &
immature Purple Gallinule at Shoveler Pond. Two Wood Storks were @ Smith Oaks
and one in Shoveler Pond.. There were 44 Scissor-tails on the wires along the
Anahuac entrance road & the adjacent F.M. 1985.
