We visited the Aransas NWR last Wednesday and saw the Whoopers at Heron Flats
in the refuge. Â Cape Valero across Capano Bay was a good place for us to view
the Roseate Spoonbills, herons and ibis. Â We went on the Skimmer a couple of
years ago on New Year's Eve and saw quite a few Whoopers. Â Good luck,
Rockport/Fulton is one of the best places to visit the winter shore birds.

We stayed at Goose Island SP. Great place. Oystercatchers, Goldeneye,
Redheads, Turnstones, White Pelicans, more... There were six adult and one
juvenile Whooping Cranes in a small marsh near the Big Tree outside the
park, visible from 8th Street. I don't know if they'd still be there.
