A correction on Long-billed Curlew. It was a Marbled Godwit. I was wrong

Ten of us spent the morning at Richland Creek WMA, in Freestone and Navarro
counties on a Tyler Audubon/NETFO field trip. Water levels were fairly
high, and there were lots of large wading birds, but not many shorebirds.
Bird of the day was a Long-billed Curlew, which only showed itself to Ed
Wetzel. A Black-bellied Plover in near-alternate plumage on the road was a
close second. Other sightings of interest included 50-100 Wood Storks, 5
Anhingas, 25-50 Roseate Spoonbills, 5+ Tricolored Herons, 15 Black-crowned
and at least 5 Yellow-crowned Night Herons, hundreds of Little Blue and
Great Blue Herons, Great and Snowy Egrets and White Ibis, 10-20 Plegadis
Ibis, 1 Osprey, 1 Common Gallinule, 1 Sora, 10 American Avocets, 50+
Black-necked Stilts, Stilt, Solitary and Semipalmated Sandpipers, 20
Long-billed Dowitchers, Wilson's Phalarope, 30+ Black Terns, 1 Inca Dove
(unusual for RCWMA, Freestone county), 5-10 Bank and 3 Tree Swallows, a
Mourning Warbler and 2 Northern Waterthrushes. It was a great day to be
out.
