Hi all,
Just to chime in with some jips of my own...
I heard a flock of Red Crossbill Saturday late morning
overhead somewhere up in the fog-mist. I did not see them.
They circled over the house a full minute, seemingly a bit
disoriented in the near-zero visibility, incessantly calling.
It was a fair number of them, based on prior experience I
would say at least a dozen probably way more.
Sunday I checked a couple local pine trees I am on a first
name basis with, and saw cones but no crossbills.
