I have received more requests for the same information than directions. I only received one personal reply which I have quoted below. Dennis Shepler also gave excellent directions which he posted to this list. I still hope to hear from more of the people who have posted sightings to ebird to find out where they saw theirs. Janet Rathjen Houston, TX On November 9, we were at Attwater P.C. NWR in the afternoon. Toward the end of our visit, we stopped on the auto tour, past the bird blind on the long straight-away, to eat some lunch and watch a Northern Harrier. At one point the NOHA swooped low and scared up two prairie chickens which disappeared back into the grasses after a short flight. Pure luck that we happened to be watching for those few brief seconds. I hope this helps. ________________________________ From: Janet Rathjen <j.rathjen@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: Texbirds <texbirds@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, November 29, 2013 10:20 PM Subject: [texbirds] RFI: Attwater Prairie Chicken location Hi All, I have been seeing ebird alerts from people seeing Attwater Prairie Chickens at Attwater Prairie Chicken NWR, but none of the reports I have seen include direction about where on the refuge the birds are being seen. I don't know if the information was posted somewhere and I missed it, but could someone please send me directions on where to find these birds. They would be lifers for me. Thanks, Janet Rathjen Houston, TX PS. I need detailed directions since all the maps I can find of the refuge do not include road names. --------------------- Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
