It's still good at Quintana on Saturday. Higher number birds, especially
American Redstarts.
Thanks!

It was a rather good day at Quintana considering its May 12th. A few
oriole's, tanagers, grosbeak's, all the thrushes, and lots of flycatchers.
Probably the best warbler day of the spring at Quintana. When I got to
Quintana, Jackie Hicks had already seen the Golden winged and asked me for
ID help on bird which was a female Cape May. As the day progressed, the
birds just kept showing up. Tad Finnell and I had the place to ourselves
for the majority of the day. Ended up with 14 warbler species on the little
plot of scrub. At one point, I had both male and female Golden wing in my
binoculars and they were seen throughout the day. Other good warblers
included Canada, Blackburnian, Chestnut, and Northern Parula. At one
point, Tad had 7 Tennessee warblers in the water feature at the same time.
In many cases, both sexes were present. Best warbler however was a
Blue-winged on May 12th! Tad and I had good looks at this bird. Winds are
lightening up a fair amount overnight, so
would not expect everything to stay, but some should still be around in the
morning.
