It was a nice evening to watch waders come into the Rookery to spend the night. Many Great Egrets have breeding plumage and are displaying there is one nest with eggs. Snow geese were going over but there was no consensious on direction. There are a lot of White-crowned Sparrows at High Island and few White-throats this was true last year too. It used to be that White-throats were the most common. I wonder what is happening. There was a female Painted Bunting hanging out with one of the flocks of sparrows.
