[texbirds] McCook Ferruginous Hawk YES

Hi, all!
 

Did the complete "Sparrow Road Route" this morning, with the highlight being
the continuing young Ferruginous Hawk:  he was sitting in the "Mountain
Plover Field" along Jara Cintas, about a mile or so south of the
intersection with FM 490 (same spot where a bunch of us had the Mountain
Plovers during last month's Birder Patrol trip).  Blow-by-blow and pictures

white below with much white on head, just a little brown streaking around
eye and on crown, very dark brown back with some paler scap feathers, brown
flecking near thighs, thin feathering on tarsus, pale whitish tail.  Photo
obtained.
