Texbirds: This afternoon there were approximately 2500 gulls visible from Alexander Duessen Park County Park, at the south end of Lake Houston, Harris County. Highlights included two first-winter THAYER'S GULLS, one darker, the other lighter; a 1st-winter GLAUCOUS GULL; at least three LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS; and a GULL sp might have been a (KUMLIEN'S) ICELAND disappeared in the waves and hordes. The area was alive with birds generally, including a good mix of passerines also apparent near the launch area, and two BALD EAGLES visible over the lake at one point.
