Today, Sunday 8/14 I found 3 Swallow-tailed Kites and 5 Mississippi
Kites soaring over the park along the creek that runs through the west
side of town near the sports complex. On July 28, I saw 4
Swallow-tailed Kites there with one Mississippi Kite soaring over pretty
much the same area. I also found one Swallow-tailed Kite flying over
that side of town on this past Thursday 8/11. Each time I have seen
them in the afternoon around 4:30 pm. I was only there today for about
45 minutes, but also saw a Couch's Kingbird and a Black crowned Night Heron.
