Went out for a drive around the lake today and saw little of what I expected to see and lots of what I wouldn't expect to see.. Unexpected highlights included an adult Crested Caracara and a snazzy Bullock's Oriole male. Trip was shy on sparrows, shorebirds, gulls, and warblers for some reason, as in NONE..With the exception of hords of Lark Sparrows. And surprisingly, I didn't see a single White Wing Dove, which usually I have to swat away when I walk out the back door.
