Greetings All:
I discovered two things this morning. The first: it is NOT a good idea to
try to go for a walk in the park on a severely windy day when one is
dealing with a nasty case of every 'itis' from the sinuses down to the
bronchi. The second: when it is this windy there aren't many birds out
there anyway.

I did persevere in staggering about the park for forty-five minutes, noting
a whopping eighteen species of birds. The water levels remain too high for
shorebirds and and were too wind-whipped for waders. The highlights were:
2 Yellow-crowned Night Herons (hiding in the depths of the conifers near
the lake), 1 Ash-throated Flycatcher, 1 Hermit Thrush, and 1 Nashville
Warbler.

The only addition to my park list for the year was the Nashville Warbler,
bringing me up to 103 at the site in 2015. If the winds die down a bit, it
gets warmer, and I start feeling a bit better I might try again this
evening.
