The bird was working a territory of low shrubs adjacent to a gas drilling site. Other birds seen in the area included Blue Grosbeak, Painted Bunting, Dickcissel, Bewick's Wren, Carolina Chickadee, White-eyed Vireo, Northern Cardinal, Greater Roadrunner, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Turkey Vulture, Lark Sparrow and Black-chinned Hummingbird.
