As promised the full report from the Dougherty BBS, completed on 28 June
2015. This route runs westward from a point just south of Dougherty to a
point southwest of Floydada, then bends south to cross the White River, and
then continues westward to a point northwest of McCoy - all in Floyd
County. This route was horrendous with a twelve-mile detour to get from
one point to the next, a ten-mile detour to get from one point to the next,
and a forty-foot stretch of ruts whose rims had to be decapitated to get
from one point to the next. Waterfowl, waders, and shorebirds are back in
the region - after several yeas of near absence - and Northern Bobwhites,
Western Kingbirds, most sparrows, and Dickcissels were, as with the
Floydada BBS route, hopping. The full list of critters identified:
