Susan,
The circulation around Isaac on the west side of the storm pulls down upper
level winds from the north and the birds that ride those winds. Check out the
wind map <http://hint.fm/wind/> and you will see what I mean.

Subject: [texbirds] Denton Co migrants

This morning has been AWESOME! In my back yard! I don't know if it's
the pending Hurricane Isaac, regular fall migration or the fact that I am home
watching. The following were seen at my bird pond or in the trees all w/in a 30
minute time span: Black & White Warbler 1 Nashville Warbler 2
Yellow Warbler 7 [all bathing together!] Blue Gray Gnatcatcher
1 Ruby Throated Hummer 3 Baltimore Oriole 3 [the male finally
showed up!!] Vireo; possibly a Warbling? I could not relocate L And the
usuals: Cardinals 10 House Finch 6 [ 5
newly fledged] Bewick Wren 1 Brown Thrasher 1
Doves & Jays Downey WP 2 Mississippi Kite overhead 1 And
then earlier on my neighborhood walk I confirmed [w/ optics] a pair of Kestrels
that I saw last week [w/o optics], and I also saw a Green Heron. Get out
there and bird.it's not just on the coast that things are happening! Sue YOST
