[texbirds] Bummer of a day

Hi Texbirders,
Well the birding gods weren't showing me any love today on Valentine's
Looked for 3 hours for the Aplomado Falcon and struck out. at dawn
Drove around auto loop at Brazoria and only interesting birds were a
juvie White-tailed Hawk eating a bird and a Caracara eating a well
done snake in a burned area.
Decided to spend afternoon at Anahuac. Stopped by the monument to
look again for the sapsucker and dipped on that.
At Anahuac, only good bird was the krider's past Pear Orchard Rd on
1985. Missed Vermilions at both the visitor center and Skillern.
There were 2 pairs of Redheads in the pond at the visitor center -
highlights of the day.
And no photos.
Tomorrow has to be better.
