Amen.  For a while, a number of years ago, I was almost convinced that Winter 
Wrens did not exist, but rather were just a giant hoax that the rest of the 
world was playing on me.  Everyone else said they saw them, but for me they 
were truly a nemesis bird.

Judy is so right!  I could not find a yellow headed blackbird for almost 2 
years, everyone "just saw them"  & I kept missing them.  I used to say they 
were 
a myth to cover for my lack of seeing them and then when I finally saw some 
they 
did start showing themselves everywhere I went.  I remember thinking they were 
sticking out their tongues going "nah nah nah nah" at me.
