I birded the North American Butterfly Association in Mission where I had excellent views of 3 American and 2 Clay-colored Robins together at a puddle of water in the trail in the wooded area. Whenever I visit the LRGV I have to remember they are found in small numbers here. Yesterday I birded at Frontera Audubon in Weslaco briefly where both a Ringed and Belted Kingfisher were vocalizing a lot. Frontera is compact so provides the opportunity for closer views of birds such as these kingfishers that are more distant at other nature areas in the Valley.
