this all sounds great...but... my wife has her own job and all this stuff
you say is a waste of time could not be done cheaper with a hired hand. my
first year i learned a real hard lesson.. as a one man shop i hired a
person to answer phone deal with customers and ups and all that wasted
stuff.. problem was i only made enuf to pay her and had very little left
over to pay me.. if you workalome you have to do it all and you cant have
it both ways. i spend a lot of time interfacing with my customers and try
to make a good impression so they wont go somewhere else next time. i have
the time to do thast and i find thst it pays in return business. (i do
work a few hours over when im behind and the doors are locked) i also found
that there is a crossover point where extra earnings will result in a higher
tax bracket so .. if your gonna make more make it a lot more.. and dont
work too cheap helps most of all.. im now on computer and have gotten real
good about getting it done.. with average 2-3 days turn around. keeping
the right stock of parts is VERY important.. i used to order 5 or more of a
part that i found bad and now i order only 2 or 3 and combine orders so i
save on freight.. better to have one left over than a half dozen..
i still have fun cuse if your not havin fun your doin it wrong :)
