Hi Charles,

Have you done chkdsk /f (typed into RUN) and defrag? Also run ad-aware
(as another tech recommended). Make sure your startup folder has very
few programs checked. Do an on-line virus scan at Panda and Trend
("Housecall"). It is common for one antivirus program to find viruses
which another one missed.

If that doesn't help and you have an original XP Home CD, reinstall
Windows XP by selecting "Setup Windows", then "Repair" (NOT "Fresh
Copy"). This will often fix a number of problems, and all your
programs will still work. This is also known as an upgrade install.
It takes less than an hour to do this. All day to find nothing wrong.
